APTU is recognised by First Capital Connect as an official representative body for all Thameslink passengers using stations between Harlington and West Hampstead.
APTU holds regular meetings with the First Capital Connect management team to discuss both the current service and also future developments which could affect our daily journeys.
Most of the major stations on the line are represented on the Committee by a committee member living locally. Over the years, APTU established a good relationship with Thameslink staff and we have been able to use this to create an effective relationship with First Capital Connect management.
Your committee issues regular newsletters to pass on items of interest to our entire membership and also work with our contacts in First Capital Connect to address issues / problems as they arise
Whilst APTU does not achieve all that it
would wish, there can be no doubt that the Association’s existence has provided
a positive means whereby the views of rail travellers can influence the service
which First Capital Connect provides. Higher membership can only increase this
influence.
